October 16 WORKSHOP :: Paste Papers Bear Creek Paperworks in Columbia, MO River of Life: Bread of Life Botanical Center in Springfield, MO Shirah Miriam “Mimi” Aumann will direct a community collaborative environmental installation as a grand opening event for the new $4.3 million, LEED-certified Botanical Center in Springfield, MO. Recycled papers, collected from the local schools, will be embedded with organic, non-GMO winter wheat seeds that will germinate and portray a “river of life” flowing with the “bread of life.” The message is the urgent need to conserve and preserve the quality and availability of our waterways and caution against the alteration of our seeds, which negatively changes our food chain and endangers our health. You are welcome to come join in pouring the "longest paper river in the world" if you are in the area... |
