MoFA

 NEWSLETTER :: FALL 2011

 PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
MoFA is gearing up for a fall season of fiber exhibits and planning for our upcoming conference. Fiber artists from across the country are getting ready for Innovations in Textiles throughout the St. Louis area. Many local galleries will be hosting fiber exhibits. The opening for the MoFA Speaking Of Fibers exhibit will be October 6th from 5-8pm. This fantastic exhibit, chaired by Barb Zappulla, will be held at the Morton J. May Foundation Gallery on the campus of Maryville University, 650 Maryville University Drive, St. Louis, MO from October 1-31. Our juror, Victoria Crowder Payne, will be at the opening reception to present her perspective and present the awards. A big thanks to Barb for her hard work in making this exhibit so fantastic.

Carol Zeman is working night and day to plan the MoFA 2012 Conference. This year’s conference will be held at Tan Tar A resort located at the Lake of the Ozarks from May 18-20, 2012. Look for a lot more information in this newsletter and also on this website.

We will be voting for a new slate of officers during our Spring Conference and we still need nominations for President. If you would like to run for this position or recommend someone for this position please contact me at president@missourifiberartists.com. MoFA depends on its membership for volunteers to keep our organization strong and growing. You all have gifts to offer MoFA and if you are considering putting your name up for the position of President you should know that you will have the support of the board and past officers to help in any way to make your term successful.

I know that as we enter the Fall and Winter season we all become involved and busy with planning family time together. Don’t forget to take time for Fibers and supporting MoFA as we move forward toward a new year of growth and possibilities.

Bonnie Black
2010-12 MoFA President
