ST. LOUIS REGIONAL REP :: Judy Cobillas
Judy Cobillas
Judy Cobillas lives in the St. Louis County area of Missouri. She received her B.A. and M.A. in St. Louis as well. Her lifelong interest in multicultural arts and traditions has played an important role in her work and her personal life. She has had the opportunity to travel to Japan, Italy and Mexico. The richness of these experiences is developed in her fiber work as well as in the classes she teaches. She concentrates primarily on surface design, reconstructing the cloth before it is finished into art quilts, but never limits her opportunities to work in other fiber mediums.

SOUTHEAST REGIONAL REP :: Rosemary Claus-Gray
Rosemary Claus-Gray
Rosemary Claus-Gray is a fiber artist inspired by the lines, shapes and color found in nature. She often creates in a minimalist and abstract expressionist style. Drawn to the work of artists who are painters, she thinks of her work as painting with fabric. She loves using sheer and translucent fabrics to merge one value with another, resulting in subtle color shifts. She considers hand and machine stitching as mark-making tools, giving definition to positive and negative shapes, adding texture and the illusion of depth. While she's not had a formal art school education, she is grateful to many workshop teachers, authors, artist friends, museums and galleries who helped her learn and grow as an artist. She tries to maintain a beginners mind while exploring her newest creation.

Rosemary retired from work as a clinical social worker, and is now enjoying life as a full-time studio artist. Although she is living in rural southern Missouri, the influence of the Chicago area from the first half of her life is evident in her approach to creating. Art is her expression of faith, joy, and a search for inner peace that brings balance to her life.
